Wandee App Guide: Meet People Through Sport in Switzerland

You can live in Switzerland for years and still realise that most people you know are colleagues, classmates or acquaintances. Meeting new people is not necessarily the hard part. Building an actual circle around you is.
And traditional networking does not always make that easier. You walk into a room where everyone is there specifically to meet people, and somehow everyone is expected to make the conversation feel completely natural.
We take a different route.
Wandee is basically LinkedIn through sport.
You can meet people, grow your network and stay connected afterwards, but instead of making conversation the whole activity, you start with something you actually want to do together.
A run, a padel match, a bike ride, a hike or whatever sport gets you out of the house.
If you meet someone interesting along the way, great. If you don’t, you still got the sport.

Step 1. Build your Wandee profile

Start with the basics: who you are, what sports you do and what level you actually play at. This matters more than it sounds. “I play tennis” can mean anything from “I bought a racket last summer” to “I will destroy you in 40 minutes and still call it a friendly match”.
Your Wandee profile helps other members understand what kind of activity would actually work before anyone spends time arranging it. You can also add your interests and professional information if you want to, which makes it easier to meet people with something in common beyond sport.
Harvard Business Review even recommends finding common interests as one way to make networking feel more authentic. That is exactly why shared sports and interests matter here. You might discover that your new cycling partner works in your industry, studies at the same university or is interested in the same project you spent twenty minutes talking about on the way home. Or none of that happens and you just have a good ride. Also fine.

Step 2. Find people and sports activities that actually fit

Finding the right people or activities should not mean scrolling through everything happening across Switzerland. Wandee lets you narrow the search by location, sport and other preferences, whether you want to join a sports activity in Zurich or find a sports partner in Geneva.
You can get more specific from there. Maybe you want to find a cycling group in Zurich, a padel partner after work or someone for a weekend hike.
And because Wandee is not only about finding an event, you can also browse Members directly and look for people based on shared sports, interests and other profile information. Sometimes the event comes first. Sometimes the person does.
Both Members and Events offer plenty of filters, so you can narrow down people and activities instead of sorting through everything manually.

Step 3. Join an activity or create your own

Found something interesting? Join it. If nothing fits, create your own activity instead. Maybe you want an easy 5K run in Zurich on Saturday morning, need two more people for padel after work or notice that the weather suddenly looks suspiciously good and decide a cycling plan for Sunday sounds better than spending another day indoors. Create the activity, add the important details and let people who are interested join.

Before you go, you can also see who else is joining and open their profiles to check their sports, interests and professional background. You already have some context about the people you are about to meet, without having to turn the whole thing into a networking exercise.

Step 4. Chat, meet offline and see what happens

Once you join an activity, the event chat keeps the practical details in one place. Agree on the meeting point, sort out the last details and then comes the part social apps sometimes seem to forget about: you actually meet offline.
What happens after that does not need to follow a script. Someone you meet for one ride might become your regular cycling partner, you might discover that you work in similar industries, or you might simply have a great match and meet again next week.
That is kind of the point. Not every connection needs to become a “valuable contact”. But it can.
That’s Wandee in a nutshell. Start with sport, meet people in real life and see where it goes.
